Seven Plugins, Zero Errors: AI That Debugs Itself

We asked an AI to build seven plugins. It hallucinated every API. Built against fantasies. Shipped zero working code. Then the pipeline caught every mistake, fixed everything, and delivered production-ready plugins. Here's how.

The Problem: 443 Violations of Reality

The AI generated 3,442 lines of TypeScript for EventDash. Every handler compiled. Every type checked. Zero runtime errors in the build phase.

Then we ran it. The admin panel crashed on the first validation error.

throw new Response() doesn't exist in the Emdash plugin runtime. The AI hallucinated an HTTP response API the platform never exposed. This pattern appeared 121 times across EventDash alone.

The Board Caught It

Shonda Rhimes reviewed the MemberShip plugin: "The bones are good. Now give it a heartbeat."

She was looking at this code:

Emdash's KV store handles serialization automatically. Manual JSON.stringify() creates double-encoded data. Members can't load profiles. Events disappear. Registration records corrupt on write.

The Fix: Return Data, Don't Throw Responses

Pattern Recognition: Five Hallucinated APIs

The board verdicts revealed systematic misunderstandings:

The Results: Seven Plugins Shipped

All seven shipped production-ready. All 443 hallucinated API calls corrected. Board verdicts addressed. Quality gates passed.

How the Pipeline Worked

The correction process ran in four phases:

Phase 1: Detection - Static analysis identified 443 violations across five patterns:

Each pattern represented a systematic misunderstanding of the Emdash platform API. The hallucination didn't make random mistakes. It built a consistent mental model of APIs that don't exist.

Phase 2: Board Review - Four board members reviewed the broken implementations. Jensen Huang flagged strategic gaps. Shonda Rhimes identified missing emotional architecture. Warren Buffett questioned economic value. Oprah Winfrey demanded accessibility and trust. Their verdicts caught issues automated testing missed.

Phase 3: Remediation - The pipeline rewrote every violation. Not by patching individual bugs, but by rebuilding the transport layer with correct platform contracts. Error handling switched from throwing Response objects to returning data. Serialization switched from manual JSON wrapping to platform auto-handling. Auth switched from defensive checks to declarative capabilities.

Phase 4: Verification - All seven plugins deployed to production. Admin panels rendered errors correctly. Member records persisted without corruption. Authentication enforced at the routing layer. Quality gates passed.
